We provide an environment for people to make a life-long commitment to fitness by educating them about the benefits of exercise and then motivating them to begin and continue their fitness-centered life.
Roadtrip was founded to motivate individuals who have started, or are thinking about beginning, an exercise program. Roadtrip provides participants with a way to track their daily running, walking or biking miles and then apply those miles to a real journey such as Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica, Los Angeles to San Francisco along the Pacific Coast Highway, or Daytona Beach to Miami Beach. This concept of city-to-city, visual progress is meant to provide interest and motivate individuals to remain committed to their exercise endeavors. Physical fitness levels and the percentage of Americans who are overweight or obese is quickly being recognized as a national problem which affects us all.
An estimated 97 million adults in the United States, or more than six out of 10 men and women, are classified as overweight or obese. In the United States, approximately 300,000 deaths each year are attributed to a combination of dietary factors and physical inactivity - the two primary culprits of obesity. That makes these two lifestyle habits second only to cigarette smoking as the leading cause of death in the United States.
Roadtrip is working to raise the awareness levels of how our fitness affects both our own quality of life and others. We invite you to create your own private league with friends and family as a way to get those around you into a fitness routine or utilize Roadtrip's cards to track your progress at home.
